The cut looks slightly different (more relaxed, less athletic) for the discontinued colors. Is this truly the case?

All cuts are the same for the discontinued and current models. I would consider it a relaxed fit. The jacket does not have a skin tight fit, but is not baggy like the Snap-T pullover
