I am looking for a good pair of light weight hiking shoes. I am in the process of going light-weight. I primarily hike/backpack in the Appalachian regions of NC, SC, and GA. How quickly do these dry? Are they true to size? How is the arch support? I have fairly moderate case of plantar fasciitis and therefore need GOOD arch support, along the lines of what a pair of Chaco sandals offers. Are there any advantages of the Gore-Tex version of this shoe aside from the immediate obvious?

I just got back from a really wet and sloppy 2 day hike in these and they dried out rather fast. I typically have arch support issues as well and these held up really well for the hike. As far as long term I am not sure yet.

Just got mine in the mail 3 days ago. All I can tell you as of yet is that they fit exactly true to size for me. I almost always wear a 10.5 (Vasque, Asics, & Chaco) so I ordered the 10.5 and they fit great. Fairly nice shoe too! I can not wait to test them on the trail. I have a feeling that I am really going to love them.
