does the toe strap go over top the toe or is it like the mission binding where it goes over the front of the toe?

the toe straps can do either. hence being "convertible". you can put them over top of your toe like traditional toe straps or out front to better pack your boot into the back of your binding.

It goes over the top so it gives you the best of both worlds. It holds your foot down and pushes your boot into the back of the binding all at once.
