is the outside shell hard or soft?
I don't particular like hard shell, makes you feel like wearing a cardboard. understand hard shell is good for windproof/rainproof, just don;t like the way it is.

It is a hardshell. Sounds more like you are looking for a softshell. Arcteryx makes plenty of good ones so I would just enter arcteryx softshell into the search bar and that should give you the best results.
