i am looking for a rain jacket for more everyday/work use. i was looking at either this or the marmot precip. can anyone help me decide which is better? or a better one around that price?

Go with the epic. The Precip (when new) can withstand approx. 30 psi of water while the Epic is close to 40. The Epic is the way to go.

I have the women's precip and have worn it alot over the past 2 or 3 yrs and highly recommend the women's precip. (Men's should be similar)

Zach. They are both very good jackets. It all depends what you are looking for when it comes to bells and whistles. Depending on the model one might have more than the other. The fabric and coatings in both jackets will perform similarly in waterproof-ness and breathability. Good luck!
