Even with the Merrell brand, all footwear is made with different lasts and are going to have a slightly different fit depending on what the shoe is intended for. The Chameleon Hex is considered a multi-sport/light hiking shoe. It will have a close-to-the-foot fit with more volume in the instep. It accommodates a light to mid-weight athletic sock.

From personal experience, Merrell shoes run true to size.
