I've heard & read this jacket doesn't perform well...

I've heard & read this jacket doesn't perform well with wet snow/sleet....(i.e. eventually soaks through the material). I live in Chicago and ski mostly in WI & MI...but venture out to Copper Mtn every Thanksgiving. I would like this jacket to perform well in all conditions as they vary from state to state.
Sounds like this jackets stands up well to most conditions, just worried getting wet. Can anyone comment on this area???
