Backpacking in mountains...?

Is this jacket suitable for backpacking/mountaineering? I need a go to jacket for warmth in snow and elements that could shed rain/sleet/snow etc.

Thanks.

I think you are going to find this jacket too heavy for those types of applications. Typically people are going to stay away from fixed insulation pieces like this for backpacking, because it will be too warm. If you want something for backpacking and mountaineering, I think you are going to want to find a good shell that you can layer with if you plan on using in colder and warmer conditions like it sounds you are. Here are a few suggestions: 1. North Face Serac (stretch Gore pac lite) 2. North Face Mammatus Jacket (Gore Pro) 3. North Face Heathen Jacket (Gore Pro) 4. North Face On Site Jacket (Hyvent DT)
