does the black have a slight grid pattern when viewed up close? I noticed this at the store and wasn't sure if this jacket was last years version or if it just didn't show up in the picture..

Yes, the black does have a slight grid pattern to it, I just got this jacket a month ago and I LOVE it! I had the north face denali and I sold it on ebay cuz I just didn't like the fleece, I found the wind went right through! So I bought this one instead and absolutley love it!
