I just purchased a Arc'Teryx Gamma MX Hoody in medium and discovered it's too short for me (I'm 6'2", 170 lbs., and handsome). So I returned it, and now I'm comparing the Gamma SV and Gamma MX. Which of the two are heavier duty and will keep me warmest in my native blustery New York finger lakes habitat? Also due to my tall stature will a Large be tall enough to go beyond my waist a few inches? The medium I purchased in the Gamma MX Hoody went to my waist if not a half inch shorter. Thanks for your help!

The SV (stands for "severe") is a bit more substantial in terms of materials. Softshells tend to have a shorter cut than hardshells but the large should be at least go past your waist. Click on the "chat now" button and ask a BC employee about the actual length though.
