As in heavy jacket to keep you warm? If so then yes. It has 550 down fill in it and great insulation. You'll keep plenty warm. Heavy as in weight heavy? It's hard to know exactly what you consider "heavy" but I would say no. It's not annoyingly heavy that it'll be noticeable when you wear it.
