How does this jacket stack up to the Mountain Hardwear Hooded Compressor PL Jacket? Which is warmer and better for walking around town on cold days?

There are different varieties of PrimaLoft ONE, SPORT, ECO, Infinity with thermal performance .92, .79,.74, 0.55 clo/osy respectively. Mountain Hardwear Hooded Compressor PL uses PrimaLoft Eco with 120g while TNF Redpoint uses PrimaLoft One with 100g. While Compressor PL is 5 oz lighter, it also uses 15D Nylon instead of 30D nylon that TNF uses. I guess this adds in to wear resistance and probably windproofness. The TNF hood is probably much more desirable in stormy condition. Overall, if you can settle for 5oz more weight, Redpoint is much better choice. BTW non-hooded version of TNF isn't same in these respects as hooded version.

I've never tried the compressor, but I can tell you this jacket is awesome for cold days and it looks great when you're "walking around town". Both use primaloft so they might be a close call. It might just come down to the look/color choice. I tried it the other day in single-digit temps while shirtless underneath and believe it or not I was warm!! Of course that was only for 10-20 minutes, but impressive nonetheless.
