Are these gloves comfortable without the liners in them? What is the inside lining of the shells made of? When the day warms up, I often pull the liners out of my current mitts and just wear the shells.

They will be comfy for sure. The removable liners are fleece and then even when they are removed the inside of the gloves still has a thin fleece lining. So either way liners in or not you have a comfy fleece lined glove.
