How do these compare to vasque Ice 9000 or generally to plastic mountaineering boots? Would they work on Aconcagua? And what about Denali?

personally I think over boots will not be necessary but insurance is insurance. My comment is these boots clamp down pretty good but if they start off a little tight, circulation can be compromised. lean towards half to full size larger than what you would normally think. I have used these in sub freezing weather for days on end and never ever had cold feet. I did however remove the bed liner to give a little more wiggle room. a side note the super fabric is tough and seems virtually impervious to crampons and fumble footing when the going gets dicey. the boa system rocks when its flippin cold and you have the heavy gloves. no hesitation these boots work.

They were given the best in gear review by rock and Ice, these are designed as a high altitude boot, and ya they'd work on aconcagua or denali, but with that being said bring overboots frost bite...well bites. For me i would take these hands down to the 9000 or other mountaineering boots. Especially with the "Ergo-Therm" lining.
