kind of the opposite question... I'm a petite lady, and I've never experimented with one of these thingies... really, honestly, I look at it and think the thing will stick out of my flat shorts like a beacon that says, "everything important to this girl in the world is right here down her shorts!!!"Can someone enlighten as to a solution, or set my mind at ease?

They are made so they are not visible under your clothing. I would get the tan for sure and keep it under your belt line. It is very smooth and flat and comfortable, and I will sometimes push mine to the side. The passport money case is slightly less bulky than the Deluxe Security Belt
