How heavy is this jacket (weight)? Would if be a good layering jacket, or is the built in insulation too much. I want ti use the jacket as an outer layer for Nordic skiing.

It weighs a little over 1 1b. That's decent for an insulated coat such as this. With nordic skiing being the high-aerobic activity it is, I would layer with a long sleeve baser under 200 g weight. If you get cold easily though, I'd still go with this one.
