I'm not sure what you mean by heavy. But these are going to weigh about the same as every other kids snowboard boot weighs. Not excessively heavy, but not light either. If you're worried about them slowing down the person wearing them or being cumbersome, this shouldn't be a problem. Every manufacturer realizes that their product needs to be as light, comfortable, and agile as possible and factors in that you're going to be walking in them and riding/standing with them on for long periods of time. So they should be just fine for you as far as weight is concerned.
