I have survived many rainstorms, downpours, heavy winds, even snowstorms. Never had in issue with water getting in... This tent is pretty bomber considering how cheap it is.

This tent would be pretty good but I think you'd want a full cover fly like the Gunnison 2.1.

I wouldnt use this tent for it but you could. You would have to seam seal all the seams and make sure to use a footprint so you dont get a hole in your tent floor but thats the same for any tent
