This jacket has a removable, because of this you can wear this jacket is a variety of conditions and temperatures. It is hard to say what is the best temp. Everyone reacts differently to temperatures. It can be a shell to keep you dry in warmer temps, then add the liner when it gets a little colder. Then in really cold temps add base layer with the liner. One jacket many different conditions. check this out, http://www.dogfunk.com/dogfunk/group/195/b100000128/Special-Blend-Womens-Midweight-Long-Underwear-Tops.html
