What is the weld strength/ type on the shovel, specifically where the handle connects to the Shovel? I know G3 has a shovel with a double weld where handle and shovel connect which makes extremely durable and strong. Does this have that?
Also, is the Tracker DTS a good beacon for someone just getting into backcountry trips and avalanche terrain? what is the usage like? Easy to understand and learn, or hard and not effective? Basically is it easy to familiarize and become confident in using with practice? Thanks!

i definately have to agree with Vern. it is a great beacon and it was the first beacon i ever used and i learned it incredibly easy. also, if you are just getting into backcountry trips, i would strongly recomend that you take an AIRRE level one avalanche course. they often teach you how to use that beacon and it will help keep you safe in the backcountry.

DTS is the gold standard for anyone getting into beacon use or those of us who have used beacons for years easy and dependable. as far as the shovel wouldnt worry about it you wont break it shoveling snow, your not that strong i promise.
