I'm a 5'8 185 lb aggressive skier that wants to add this ski to my arsenal.. I have a line blend at 168 (which I feel is way short), an anthem at 171 and an Elizabeth at 172. I'm leaning towards the 179 with a marker schizo setup for my Snowbird and Jackson trips this season to charge around and swing through trees with. Usually I wouldn't ask but would this be to much ski to throw around because I heard they measure or feel longer than labeled..? Any thoughts appreciated.. Thanks.

I'am 6'2 185 and aggressive and rock in my own world! Yes these skis are probly longer than listed. I had a pair of the 189's from 2-3 yrs ago and they actually measured 194 from tip to tail. But I think K2 does a measurement from where the ski contacts the the snow, but with the tip and tail rocker I'am not sure where they measure from but my guess is they are probly longer. I haven't measured any skis lately. The tip and tail rocker are gonna make this ski shorter than you might think, (my experience anyway) meaning good for the trees and quick manuevering. As far as the flex goes, I liked the flex from a couple years ago and wish I still had these skis.

Write your answer here..I'm 5-11, 170 lbs. I like my skis short and maneuverable for the trees. Coming from a pair of 174 Atomic Snoop Daddy's, the 179's looked pretty big in the shop. I bought them anyway and love them. They feel like the right size ski in the trees for me. If I were mostly skiing wide open terain, i think I'd be happy with the next size up. Very maneuverable and very fun to ski.

I own last years model at 189. I'm 5'10" ; 150, and I really enjoy the ski. I had no problem swinging it around on the steeps. The hardest part for me was getting used to riding in the moguls with such a fatty, but if you are used to fatter skis then you should be okay. Last years has a pretty mild flex. I heard a few folks complaining that it was to soft for them, but for me it was great.
