Write your question here... I"m going on a cruise to Alaska the end of this month and the beginning of Sept. I'll be flightseeing above the Arctic circle, landing there for an hour or so, and also kayaking along the Mendenhall Glacier. Is this garment good for those cold excursions as well as for others where the weather is average 60-s and the lows near 32?

I think for a trip to Alaska a Patagonia Capilene 3 would be a better option for you. It's offers a little more warmth for the cold temps, but will still be a good long sleeve shirt for you when it gets into the 60's. I wear mine practically all year round, and ski in it every day of the season.
