I have been trying to find a good high cut boot. I have weak ankles and twisted the same ankle twice in one weekend and there's too much to explore to risk an ankle injury. I bought the Asolo Stynger and took them on a 8 mile hike today and got blisters and my feet are so sore. I guess my question is: would these boots be a good alternative? Is the heel cradle better than the Asolos?

That is a tough one when it comes to boots. Unfortunately it all comes down to fit. As far as a good alternative- I would say yes. This boot is the tallest most supportive boot that The North Face makes. I have issues with blisters with many types of boots, and the Dhaulagiris work very well locking my heal in place.
