Two main differences - size and flexibility. The Backpacker has a fry pan (which the Dualist doesn't). It also has a bigger pot. The extra pieces come with a price though - some size and weight. Generally speaking, the Backpacker will provide more flexibility for cooking larger meals and/or things that need the frypan. Otherwise, it's probably worth going with the Dualist.
