More importantly, the hose provides room for expansion. This allows for superior performance in colder temperatures and at altitude. Additionally, you can turn the canister upside down to get better performance in cold weather.

Possible stability issues. This stove sits closer to the ground & could be considered more stable because of that reason. However I find that the "can stand" attached to the bottom of the canister proves to be just as stable.
