I am going on an alaskan cruise in August. Do I need this jacket for fishing excursions or walking around? Also, I am a size 6, is a small ok? Thanks for answering

I think this coat will be way too warm for summer in Alaska. I would look at a rainshell (Venture Jacket would be good), and then an insulating layer like a Redpoint jacket. You can then have both of your bases covered- warm and dry.
