Is the back panel removable for weight-savings and flexability?...

Is the back panel removable for weight-savings and flexability? I'm looking for a good summit pack to stash inside my Osprey Exos 58 backpack.

there isn't really a frame for a back panel. instead the mesh is sewn tight across the back to give some shape and then a thin foam pad is set behind the mesh to give some support. the foam is removable, though i'm not sure how flexible taking it out makes the pack. i can't say i've ever tried it.
