you can buy an ice tray that is designed to make ice cubes that will fit into water bottles...we got a set as a wedding gift...they work pretty well for this purpose

The ice cubes from our auto maker will not fit. I have to use the crushed ice option.

depends on the size of your ice cubes, my roommate has one and simply turns the ice cubes on end and they fit (that is automatic ice cube maker ice). It would probably be difficult to fit tray ice cubes in the mouth. All else fails, go get some crushed ice from a friend with an expensive fridge.
