is this a good rack if i have a freeride/downhill bike? considering I don't want it to ruin by back shock.

Hey Joe, Personally, I think that the Thule Transport T2 is the best option for Freeride/Downhill bikes - it's super easy to use and will handle any frame geometry because it grabs on to the wheels.
