Do you know if this iron gets as hot as a regular iron. What I am trying to use it for is with perler beads. Its beads that you make into a pattern and then iron them into place using medium heat. But what I need is a square iron so I was wondering if this would work temperature uwise. It would definitely work shape wise. My email is robdunhour@hotmail.com.

Yes, this iron would get plenty hot enough to melt beads. I have one similar to this and it goes up into the 150 degree Celsius range which would be over 300 degrees F.
