I have a pair of Burton ION size 9.5 with reduced footprint....

I have a pair of Burton ION size 9.5 with reduced footprint. Should I get the size M or L Ride SPi? The last one I had was a Ride LX size L and there was a LOT of extra space when stepping in the binding.
