Like Ed says, it really depends on how sensitive your eyes are. I have the regular persimmon lenses which actually let in a bit more light than HI Persimmon, and I use these when it's sunny and bright and am just fine. So for me the Persimmon or HI Persimmon are the ideal all-around lenses.

It depends where you are riding/skiing, and what your sensitivity to light is for your eyes. The pink lenses work very well for just about every light condition except for big storm days or very low light conditions. hope this helps.
