Good for Flat Feet?

I just bought the WP (not GTX) model of the Salomon XT Wings when it was on sale, and when it arrived I tried it on and noticed that it was a bit narrow. I am flat-footed. Does anyone know whether being flat-footed will wear down the side of the shoe more quickly, or whether these Wings are simply not meant for flat-footed people? I'm willing to try them out, but if anyone flat-footed people have experience with the Wings, I've love to hear your input.
