If I'm planning on week long or a little longer than week long backpack trips as-well as over-seas travel... I'm deciding between the 70 and the 85, but I can't decide. I haven't backpacked for probably 5 years but I imagine I would pack light with some more experience. Is it necessary to get the 85? Is it that much bigger?

Besides your single one-week trip, do you plan on doing more backpacking in general? If so, and If I were making this decision I would try to determine whether I would realistically be doing more week long trips or more 3-4 day trips with the occasional week-long excursion. If the week long trips are the exception, rather than the rule, you could also get an Osprey Daylight accessory pack and then your 4,300-4,700 cu in pack becomes a 5,000-5,400 cu in pack with a very conveniently detachable summit pack. I'm gonna be doing exactly this with my new Argon and Daylight packs when I go to Whitney this September. Maybe I'll let you know how it worked out when I get back.

instead of looking at how long you'll be gone, look at how much weight you're putting into the pack. you can find packs with similar capacity that'll weigh a pound or two less (like an Aether 85 that only weighs 4 lbs 12 ounces instead of the Argon that weighs 6 lbs 4 ounces for a medium) if you're toting 45 or 50+ lbs this might be the best bet though
