Is there only one pair of socks for seventeen dollars? Don't get me wrong i love a good sock. But that seems a little steep.. is it worth it?

Hey Kyle, I have had great luck with SmartWool socks and the Adrenaline series in particular. My running socks last about a year before I need to trash them. I usually buy 3 pairs at a time and rotate them through a 3-6 X per week training and racing cycle. It does seem steep, but in the end worth it. Check out the PhDs I am a recent convert and love 'em.
