I have just started climbing, mostly indoors for now though I hope to go outside when I am more comfortable. I am looking for a harness because the rentals can be a little gross, is this a good harness for beginners?

I also just started climbing and this is the harness I ultimately ended up buying. Love that it has the locking buckles like those on the petzl harnesses eliminating the need to double back. I am also a bit on the chubby side, so getting a harness that was going to be comfy on my generous thighs was a must as was a long enough padded area on the waist belt- this fit the bill in all of those areas. Proportions were just right for the way I am built and think other women who are curvy will find the same to be true for them as well. Been very pleased with this so far.

For the price you probably can't beat it! You will like the comfort it gives and when you start climbing outside it has enough gear loops to accommodate. Only drawback/decision is whether or not you want adjustable leg loops.
