Hi I wanted to buy this jacket for my son who is a size 8-10...

Hi I wanted to buy this jacket for my son who is a size 8-10 on the chart. He wore a size 6 Spyder last year so I figure he will e the 8 this year, ma i right in saying this. Also our winters are not extremely cold with a typical day on the slopes averaging 0 degrees celcius. Would this jacket be too warm? Is the under fleece removable? Thanks
