I have just started walking trails and light hiking and am getting serious about what I wear in socks and shoes. If my shoe size runs between 11 1/2 and 12, which size in socks should I get, large or extra large? Thanks for your help.

Thanks Mike, I didn't know whether to go with the highest end of the large size and hope they stretch if too tight, or the lowest end of the extra large size and hope they shrink if too large.
