Are any of the Keen sandals appropriate to wear in a fitness room with free weights and aerobic equipment?
Do they have the foot protection and support necessary?

They have good support for your foot. However the coverage is still that of a sandal. I would not recommend wearing these in a gym if you accidentally dropped a weight on your foot you would be wishing you had a full on shoe on, not a sandal.
