Write your question here...When separated, what do the two bags look like --- is one without wheels? Can that one be carried as a backpack? Also, when separated, can they be carried on as your two allowed pieces? Thanks

They split right down the middle so one will have wheels the other will not. No the seperate one does not have backpack straps. Also this bag is pretty big so even when the bag is split in two it is not really made for carry on. The split feature is made more to split the bag in two so you do not get hit with weight fees.
