Will this shirt work well with wet/cold conditions? Like hiking, and slot canyon canyoneering? Keep me somewhat warm and dry quickly?

For those activities I would look for something more form fitting and a little thicker. The reason I would go thicker is because when you're hiking or canyoneering you'll be warm and by being in a wet environment you'll want a more substantial material that will act as a wet suit in a way. It will retain the sweat, rain, water but by your body warmth, it will keep that water warm, and you warm. Just make sure to have a dry piece ready because if you stop, you will get very cold when your body heat dissipates and you're soaking wet. You are in the right ball field though by looking at polyester, that is the best material for keeping you warm while wet.
