Does this tent come with a fly? I'm sure it does, but I figure it's best to be safe... also, any reviews as to how waterproof it is? Would it be prudent to purchase a footprint?

It has a fly. I bought the footprint but I would suggest if cutting one to make it the size of the tent floor and the vestibules. Keeps dirt out of the tent. I will be adding a small triangle to the front vestibule. Spent two nights in it so far. Very roomy and I am 6+' and 240lbs. Note I was using a larger than normal synmat pat and two would be a very tight fit but this is a very large one person tent which is what I wanted. I will say the design of the fly is going to have issues at some point... the only thing that keeps the front vestibule in place is a tiny strip of velcro and it came off at least 1/2 dozen times getting in and out of the tent. Very easy to set up and take down

It does come with a fly, and I'd definitely recommend the footprint. I have the Pine Island 4, and I tried it with just a tarp first, but in long-term rain, the footprint performs HUGELY better. The floor isn't waterproof at all.

It does come with a fly. The waterproofness is great, but a footprint would be nice to improve the longevity of the tent floor. You can always by some mil plastic paper at Home Depot and cut out a footprint. That would work just as good as a footprint. You can get a big roll for $20 and cut out as many footprints as you want. This is what i do with all of my tents.
