My chest and waist are size S but I am 5'11". If I buy a M and plan to put a fleece under it will it be too big? Are the arms long for a jacket?

Refer to the sizing chart above for chest measurements in inches. But it would depend on the weight of the fleece. I'd think anything under a 200 weight fleece would be fine, but something 300 plus could get a little chubby. The arms look long only because this jacket isn't a parka cut. It's more athletic by being hip length and in turn gives you a greater range of motion for active activities.
