I read in a review somewhere that it takes a while for the water to get purified. (I believe it said it takes 2 hours!?) Is this true? The water that it will have to purify will be horrible water. Does this matter?

Fill the bottle, replace the top, start drinking. Immediate purified hydration!

I think the 2 hr lag period you're speaking of refers to a certain portion of the directions. Apparently if it's your 1st time using the water bottle, or you haven't used the water bottle in a long time, you need to prime it by passing 2 bottles of water through the filter and then let it sit for 2 hrs filled with water. If you've already primed it through this method and it hasn't been sitting on the shelf for months, then you don't need to prime it again. Then the filter works instantly and there's no waiting. Hope this answers your question.

Fill the bottle, put the top on squeeze, and drink. It is that simple. No time lag

I thought that as soon as you filtered it, the water was ready to be drank. Not 100% though.
