Not a question specifically about this pack. I'm looking for a new daypack, 30-40L, that is both hydration system ready and has mesh side pouches for 1L water bottles. A 3 pocket system would be nice: a lower one for wet clothes/shoes, a main compartment with side access, and a pocket in the lid. It needs to be compactable, preferrably in its own lid, so I can store it in my kayak hatch for kayak to hike day trips. And it needs to fit my 6'3", 235lb frame. Does this backpack exist?

It does exist and it's known as The North Face Solaris 40. Here's a link to it on Backcountry.com. http://www.backcountry.com/store/TNF2015/The-North-Face-Solaris-40-Pack-2450cu-in.html It meets your 30-40L capacity, is hydration system ready, has mesh side pockets that can hold 1L water bottles, a 3 pocket system that houses your wet stuff in the bottom, a main compartment w/ side access. It doesn't have a lid, but has instead an outer pocket on the main body that can house your smaller items. It has a hip belt so you can go the distance and it also lacks a molded frame sheet which would hinder you folding this backpack up and stuffing it in your kayak. This thing is really nice, and I have actually been wondering if something what you are asking for existed for a while now. It's nice to know it does! Namaste
