I'm trying to compare a few different bags, but I'm not sure what specs to comapre. One question is that most bags list the total weight not the weight of insulation used. Can you tell me what the fill weight for this bag is and if it's something I should be concerned with?

Look at the over all weight. The fill weight will depend on the size of the fill that is used. so say 800+ fill is used its going to be lighter than 600 fill and the same warmth. So look at the overall weight of the bag and the temp rating. Try looking at Montbell i love their bags.
