Would this be a good everyday knife?
I've read the reviews and it seems as though the grip may be too abrasive to house in ones pocket for everyday use.
Is this true?

No offense Bryan, but let's make sure we steer this guy in the right direction. The leek is a Kershaw blade. I own the leek and love it. Not a fan of Kershaw's serrations, so I went with the straight edge. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Everyday CRKT knife that is perfect for in and out of the pocket is the Leek. Super nice, strong and spring assisted.

I would not recommend it for everyday use. It is a pretty burly knife and the grip is super super grippy and would be pain to take in and out of your pocket over and over again.
