I have a North Face button up shirt similar to this in a dusty purple and the fabric content says 80% Modal 20%polyester .Is Modal nylon? Or what is it exactly? Does it offer any SPF protection?Thanks

Modal is a natural fiber made out of beech trees. It is similar to rayon. Its softer and more absorbent than cotton. I am not aware of any sun protection properties. Personally, I love modal. It doesn't shrink or twist and is soooo soft!
