i have a pair of OR Gaiters I purchased about 1995. Not sure of the model, but have Blue tops and were expensive then. I have 2 questions:

1: The bottom straps are almost worrn clear through. I am afraid they will break the next time I use them. Does OR furnish spare straps I could sew in myself, or do I need to send them back to OR for repair.

2) I wear size 13 boots and am 6'-2" and weigh 170 lbs. Can you say thin. The top strap will not adjust tight enough to hold them from falling down over my calfs. If I bought a new pair of size "large" would they be long enough and still fit over my boots, plus be smaller around the top so that they would not fall down?

Yea you should be fine I am 6 2 and 225 lbs with very muscular legs and wear a size 14-15 and I fit into the xl pretty comfortably with hiking or snow boots on. So with smaller legs a L should work if your using bit boots though just get a XL your not adding much weight and no extra cost. Save yourself from maybe having to return them. They dont fall down very easily due to how they are made and the strap at the top. I would go for the XL but a L could still work

To answer question... 1. OR has an infinite guarantee(the guy from Nordstrom's bought them way back when and duplicated the "lifetime" Nordstrom warranty) so you can take them to any OR dealer and swap them out or have the shop send them in to repair. 2. I am also size 13, 6'2" and 175lbs! (close enough) The large should be fine for the skinny legs. I have pretty athletic legs, but skinny (soccer, climbing, cycling), and they wrap around great and cinch down too. Good Luck!
