Chlorine is tough on spandex, but I wear a rash guard in the pool and as long as you wash it immediately afterwards it is fine. It may not last quite as long, but it's not going to fall apart in a week.

No, the spandex will deteriorate pretty quickly in chlorine. You don't need a rash guard for the pool anyway.
